James Young

James has ten years of planning experience across New Zealand and the UK, beginning as a graduate at MWH Global in Wellington, which later became Stantec. He worked in the Planning and Environment team there, with lengthy part-time secondments to the NZ Transport Agency and Kāpiti Coast District Council.

While in the UK, James worked in the development management departments of two London borough councils. He was processing planning applications in those roles for a wide range of urban development, including a number of strategically important residential schemes.

James was later the in-house Principal Planner for a developer of renewable energy projects, where he provided expert advice and was responsible for seeing all UK projects through the
planning process.
